HOW RESURFX WORKS

ResurFX works by the sending of precisely controlled beams of light into the deeper layers of the skin, creating microscopic columns of treated tissue. These micro-columns trigger the body's natural healing process giving way to the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. This results in smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin over a series of treatments.

 
The ResurFX laser is a 1565 nm fibre laser, which is particularly effective for deep dermal penetration. The laser's energy is delivered in a fractional pattern, meaning it treats a fraction of the skin at a time, allowing for faster healing and minimal downtime. The advanced CoolScan™ scanner ensures precise delivery of the laser energy, preventing heat accumulation and reducing the risk of side effects.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING RESURFX TREATMENT 

Firstly, numbing cream is applied to reduce discomfort. The lases is then passed over the area to be treated. Unlike similar devices, the ResurFX device requires that the therapist carry out just the one pass. This avoids having to repeatedly go over the same area. ResurFX employs something called Coolscan t echnology to reduce the energy on the skin's suface. This gives added comfort to the procedure. 
You may experience a tingely feeling while the treatment is carried out. 

RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE

Immediately following treatment, you may find you have some redness or swelling, which should subside within a few hours to a few days. Depending on your schedule you should be able to resume your daily activities immediately after treatment. If you do have some swelling then ice can be applied post treatment. Your skin may also go through a stage of being dry and flaky as post-treatment exfoliation occurs. Fine lines and wrinkles will possibly appear worse while the skin goes through its healing process.
You will be provided with aftercare advice. The main things are to avoid the sun and hot showers, treat the skin gently, and keep hydrated.

ResurFX is not the same as traditional ablative lasers, which remove the outer layer of skin and require significant downtime. ResurFX is a non-ablative fractional laser.     Yes, the ResurFX is suitable for all skin types. This is due to the fact that the device has 600 configuration combinations over shape, size, and density settings.

  • WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE THE RESULTS OF THE TREATMENT?

    Results typically start to be apparent after 4-6 weeks following the treatment. Improvements will continue to show as time progresses.

  • CAN RESURFX BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?

  • IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER RESURFX?

    Generally, no. Any visible redness is usually mild and can be covered with mineral makeup after 24 hours.
